Developing Self Management and Self Evaluation in Your School

Toolkits To Support School Self Evalution

For Information

School self-evaluation is a central and vital element in the school improvement cycle.  To further support the self-evaluation process the Local Authority is developing a number of 'Toolkits' which focus on specific areas of a school's work.  The intention is that schools will use the toolkits as and when they come to focus on particular areas of work.  It is not expected that a school would use every toolkit every year.  The SRSE Guidance and Handbook should now be considered as a toolkit to support the Self-Evaluation process.

Toolkits previously circulated and posted on BGfL:
SRSE Local Authority Guidance and Handbook - September 2005
Audit of Governors Statutory Responsibilities - September 2005
Attainment Review and Target Setting - September 2005
Early Years Review and Self Evaluation - September 2006

Toolkits to be posted on BGfL this term:
Toolkit to support Transition - September 2006
Toolkit for systematic Monitoring - September 2006

Toolkits in Development to be posted on BGfL by September 2007:
Toolkit to evaluate SEN and Inclusion
Toolkit to promote Diversity and Racial Equality

Please direct any enquiries regarding these documents to Mick Quigley, Principal Inspector mick.quigley@barnet.gov.uk or Chris Skinner, Learning Network Inspector chris.skinner@barnet.gov.uk
